Developed by Bill Hubert, Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of Balance/Auditory/Vision eXercises of varied complexity, most of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. These exercises require full-body coordination and focused attention.
The Bal-A-Vis-X program utilizes racquetballs, sand-filled beanbags, balance boards, and multiple principles from Educational Kinesiology. It demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge, fosters peer teaching.
Bill Hubert says, “ Bal-A-Vis-X (BAVX) consists of multiple thousands of physical, auditory, visual midline crossings in three dimensions, crossings that are steadily rhythmic and auditorily based; their pace the natural outcome of proper physical technique. …enables the entire mind-body system to experience the natural symmetrical flow of a pendulum”.
Participants of Bal-A-Vis-X have shown observable increases areas such as: vocabulary, visual tracking, eye-hand coordination, proficiency in language processing (oral/written), auditory processing ability, expressive/receptive language, confidence in working with others, and integration of left/right brain which leads to improved creativity/comprehension of verbal/written instruction.
